Last night I was on the GA call, and I listened, the therapy on that call is amazing. I usually hang up feeling like I heard something that triggered a thought for me.

10 days into my new recovery, and although I am feeling stronger, I'm still kind of walking through each day, starting to feel some sort of happiness. Not sure what is going on with me, I am committed to my recovery, first and foremost, that is stronger than ever. Working and staying busy, but there is just this little part of me that is still kind of "sad." This last time out, I did a ton of damage, not just financially, but emotionally, and although I'm trying to let it go, it lingers. Maybe that is a good thing?

hey leap, sad is good, i think it reminds us not to go back to our old ways, me feeling complacent is horrible, guess thats what that saying means, idle hands is the devils playground? something like that, just keep going through the day, maybe the worst is over, thats something to def be happy about and maybe a little proud, the bottom is rough, thats why its the bottom

saturday is my birthday and every year since i was allowed to gamble i have gone to a casino.

luck has it that no one has asked to go, i have not told anyone, just avoided the subject like crazy, and something quite amazing happened, me and my ex get along well, and he is taking my daughter camping this weekend ,and im like but its my bday i want to see her (that would be a double trigger)?

so i gave him the idea if i can be included...HA, thats really god working his magic, cause thats what i'll be doing.. camping with my daughter, my ex, my dog, and his family......thats beat a casino any day of the week, never thought i'd say that :)

Leap - I think the first few days are the roughest. It's almost like PTSD. And I completely understand the feelings of sadness. Gambling has been my "best friend" for a long time and I'm sad to not have her in my life. But all of us have had toxic friends we've had to let go - perhaps this is what you are feeling. Either way - I'm so glad you're still taking it one day at a time.

hang in there, leap. like others have said, we will experience different emotions, and at least you are coping with them in a healthier manner: you're not numbing them with gambling.

seems like little frustrations have floated around me all week, till I could have gone out, and spent the night there: numb.... but I didn't. whew!

again, hang in there, and keep posting. you write really well.

you will get back to that place of peace again. I just know it!

"Sad" is good! It may go up to 2 or 3 weeks. Its totally normal and nessecary phase. Keep loving yourself through it.
