I could be wrong, but I think most addicts indulge in their vice solo, without anyone else knowing. This was definitely the case for me.
When I relapsed recently, I would go to the casino almost every day, and naturally, after a while, I'd recognise the 'locals' there too. Over time, we would recognise each other, sometimes nod acknowledgement to each other, and sometimes even have a bit of a chat.
I realised I had started 'socialising' with them, feeling a bit like I was part of the gambling community. Sometimes when I'd go and not see them, I'd be a bit disappointed and missed them.
Has anyone ever felt this way? Does this make my addiction worse, as it adds another level of 'commitment' to it?

It was kinda worse for me when at times the dealers would be 'new employees' and I'd tell them the proper way of dealing, handling the cash, and stacking the chips.
