I too have read and read and counseled and posted and read some more.
I take great stock in the GA program and when I started actually reading the blue book and working the program the addiction started to make sense. It started to feel doable. It became real for me.
I spent so much time trying to understand and then when I just went to work on it; it started happening.
I recenlty relapsed but I know what I may have done wrong.
I didn't replace my old behavior with new activities and so I became once again bored and BAM !!!
I think all of us have different stories of addiction and of recovery as well but by being here and GA and doing the work we will find out what works best for US.
That is why I feel it is so important to read the posts and to POST so as to put as much information out there so we can all find the right path to keep us gamble free forever.
If something doesn't work then adjust the program.
Keep at it and you will succeed.
Nothing in life that is worth having is that easy and this is so worth having.
I am grateful for your posts and for the information you impart.
I look forward to more from you and together we will be victorious.
Just think months from now our stories will be different, in a good way.
