I knew that going into this weekend it would most likely be a tough one since it's my first full one since quitting (I quit after an all day Friday path of destruction ) so last Sat and Sun I was okay because I was broke and couldn't go anyway, but since then there have been paydays, and unexpected cash and it took everything in me not to go last night but I didn't. Instead I kept my commitment to go to my cousins house in the city and work on her daughters halloween costume. I still headed to her house with an overnight bag packed in case after seeing her I still felt a strong desire to go to our cabin and gamble at the casino up there but after several hours with my family and all the kiddos I felt much better when leaving. I called my hubby as soon as I got in the car and said "I'm heading home, be there in about a half hour." "Sounds good" He said smiling thru the phone "and I'm really proud of you."
Soooo that being said I am now fully aware that I MUST find distraction of any kind during those intense urges and they will pass. They may very well come back 12 hours later but then I search wildly for something else to do.(I've cleaned so much since Friday that my hubby jokingly questioned if I was putting the house up for sale?" ) I'm learning that busy is the key at least for me to getting thru this first stretch, but I'm doing it and I think of all of you every time the urges come. I think of how I do not want to just fall off the earth or post starting at day one again and it helps, everything here helps and I thank you for that from the bottom of my heart.
