Day 2 - the urge to play

Today is day 2 and it started off fine. Then I had a few hours to be alone at my house and like clock work the little voice in my head started telling me "this time you will recover what you lost and some". I quickly said out loud "stop it". The whole day I was rocked by different thoughts even checked out some sport betting forums to see the selection on today's action. I will need to delete those bookmarks off my phone that seems to feed the urge. Felt like crap again thinking of what I had and how I could of used it to pay s#$t off. Day 2 is in the books on to day 3....

Walk it through. The end result = regret and lost money. You might have won today. But you would eventually give it back. The only way to get something is to work for it. If people could support themselves gambling, everyone would be doing it. I saw an article on a poker pro the other day. He won a high stakes tournament and everyone was giving him praise. What they didn't say is that he lost $4 mil last year in high stakes games. They try to glamorize that stuff so they can show it on tv and make money. Everyone loses in the end. Only the house lasts. Real talk. Keep holding on. Your life will be better in the the long run. Read, research, explore. There is information out there that can talk you out of any urge you have if you look for it brother.

Hi Lastbet,

Congratulations on your 2nd day success. I have been gamble-free for eight days and it is a good feeling. Like you, I still have the urge and hear that same little voice that you heard. We have to keep saying NO to ourselves.

lastbet05 - Keep it up! I know how strong those urges are...it's so hard to battle but oh, so worth it. Go ahead and erase the bookmarks as they are triggers. Even hearing people say the name of the track I went to was a trigger for me. Weird but true. Have a good one!

Day 2 for me as well. Thinking of all those people trying to restrain from gambling as it is Sunday Morning...wondering how everyone did on Saturday night? For me...Wednesdays and Fridays are my nights....hoping this week...I will have the strength not to get in my car and go. Resisited the urge to buy a scratch off at the store this morning...even though it may seem so small, it still felt good!

We must keep coming back to stay strong and be there for eachother...those urges are strong but together we can be stronger.
