This September will be 3 years 100% gamble free. It feels good. How did I do it? Not under my own power, but the power of Him. Find a good church and pastor. Christ really did save me from this hell on earth. Go to Him. He'll still welcome you.

Yes my Higher Power was needed. But I caution that 1)Turning to God/Jesus or Buddha or the Universe or Higher Power needs to be looked at as a daily way of life not a first aid kit to use just when we are hurt or needy. 2) James 2:14-26 talks about Faith without works is dead.
God/Our Higher Power does not do it for us. We must do our part and put in the effort to do the next best/right thing and and become the best human beings we can be. In the process avoid becoming a human "doing" and feel and experience the whole range of gifts we were given.

You lost me when you put God and Buddha in the same sentence. Have a good one, but if you're equating Christ and Buddha and then quoting Scripture...well...I hope you can see where I'm going with this.

Congrats on almost 3 years! I definitely see where you are coming from. After my husband died I was lonely and an emotional mess. I slide away from God and wound up in a mess from gambling. Getting back in touch with God has helped me so much. He gave me the strength to self-ban. One reason I can't do GA is the higher power thing. To me God is THE higher power. I'm not condemning others, but I just can't feel comfortable in that setting. I could not say my "higher power".

The beauty of this country and this program is choice in discovering and growing my connection with the universal power.

I respect a person's choice and path.

I won't impose my version, and it changes and evolves until it is right with my soul.
