One moment at a time when you first start down the road to being free....The canyons are on both sides of the road and are so close to where you are going....My daddy told me when I started driving "Look down the road not directly in right in front of the car" found it was easier to drive straight by looking down the road...That being said don't gaze off at the pretty lights or listen to the pretty whistles that are across the canyon in the casino...The canyon is deep and the walls are steep.....every time I fell into the canyon there was wounds that took quite took quite a while to start to heal and and it hurt all over to start going down the road again becaue of the bruising . Every day and every moment you are free you start to heal though ....One day at a time it is so good
I read your post last night, it’s a good one. Isn’t it funny how a post can trigger different thoughts for different people. When you mentioned your daddy I couldn’t relate to the “daddy” part, or something really insightful that he told me. It know this sounds sad, maybe because it was. I had a super screwed up childhood but didn’t know it at the time. By now I know I can’t look back too hard, that’s my danger zone, the bottomless canyon of my past.
