I have always tended to be pessimistic and not enjoy my successes.
From an early age being criticized so much, at least that is what the counselor says.
You are so right, the only way to gain control of this and enjoy what you do have is to have accepance and an attitude of gratitude.
I still keep beating myself up for the wrong choices and find it hard to stop.
So really I am just my own trigger to gambling by ruminating over what can't be changed and giving into the temptation to then not feel so badly when I do by erasing the pain for a while at the casino only to then feel worse than before for the money I've spent.
What a vicious cycle and I am determined to stop it dead in its tracks.
So,
I am grateful for this site and your postings
grateful for the meetings I found
grateful for my family now that I've told them
grateful for the counselor who is there
and grateful for stopping this now as it could be much worse.
I will be a grateful person.
