A shout out to any other folks out there from Albuquerque? Not sure if this is okay to post/ask but if there are any I thought maybe we could connect locally for some support as well, and maybe to do other activities for fun other than gamble!

Not sure if there are any rules against this or not. If you do get a response, I would strongly suggest meeting in a public place where there are a lot of people. You can never be too careful! I think it would be awesome if you did find some people to be supportive!

I live in Canada, but last year I was in Albuquerque for a couple of days on business ... beautiful place, much different than living in the big city.

I used to live there a long time ago and I lived in Gallup, too...a long time ago.

Lovely city, Albuquerque.

There is a pretty good Gamblers Anonymous network there. It is relatively young, however. I think it got started about the year 2000/2002. That might be a nice option for you.

There are GA meetings 7 days a week in Albuquerque. GA is great way to meet others in recovery.
If you are just looking for a social outlet, finding a common interest to focus on helps. So you might also want to look at meetup.com - looks like it is active in Albuquerque. You can join a meetup or start one.
I am not trying to discourage you about looking for someone on this site in your town - but the odds seem slim. this is a national site and does not seem to have that many folks active on the Gambling support part.
