Meanwhile rmiss, it would benefit you greatly to make a plan, now, while you are broke, about doing something different come payday. Suggestions: Make a plan to do something besides gamble on pay day. A date with a friend, a family game night. (Not gambling games, no bingo, Monopoly may not be best choice, if children are young, Candy land or apples to oranges.) Hiking with the family after work. Try a real life photo-hunt, take photos of the alphabet in nature. Can you hand your money and finances over to your partner? Perform plastic surgery:cut up the credit cards. Money is the vehicle we need to gamble, if you can limit your ready supply, it helps. (I carry $19 or less, $20 and up seems to be my trigger point.) Prayers help. Dates with friends, a phone list of people to call when you have an urge, exercise, counseling, journaling, a gratitude diary, revive hobbies, make new hobbies, anything that is not gambling helps. GA is wonderful but it is one tool, you will need several or even many in your toolbox to beat this addiction. (There is no magic bullet.) Artwork of any kind, even coloring, relieves anxiety. You must begin to fill the void that not gambling leaves you in order to have other choices. You do not need to wait, white-knuckled until the GA meeting to do something different. You have taken the first, hardest step and you sound motivated. You can do this.

The comment that was made to make a plan is the best. I showed up at this site 2 months ago. This was after having a melt down and having to tell my husband what was going on with me and how much money I had spent that was the First step. The second step was not beating myself up. Third step. Closing bank accounts and handing all money to my husband. If that wasn't a kick in the face. I would get mad that I could not trust myself with money. Geee, I was that person that knew where every penny was and NEVER paid a bill late. ---------Fast forward, I feel good again that I trust myself. I still don't keep money with me. I plan to not have access to much money. Two days in a row I was able to give money away to someone that needed it. Oh wow, I am slowly getting back to who I was. The worst part about feeding a slot machine is that I couldn't be a giver anymore. Everyday you don't give a casino money is a day to feel better. It is hard, but I can imagine you have changed, think of who you were before this sickness. Relax, really relax and think of that person and do everything to get back to that person. You can do it!

I did the same thing on Thursday. I went gambling hoping for more money because gambling had been good to me for a few times in a few months. I ended up losing most of my money almost 14000. The next day I skipped work and went chasing my lost and lost another 10000. I don't know why I am this stupid. I was having money, enough money to pay bills with and some to pay my gambling tax but I was greedy. I wanted more so I can get myself out of debts. My brain kept telling me the next spin will hit and I will be okay. I kept putting money thousands after thousands from my account and casino marker. The next spin never came. Now I am sitting at home thinking bad about myself. Why did I do it I had enough money..why did I threw that away and now I am have more debts than before..I am really sick. I think you have a gambling problem but I have gambling and mental problem. I am looking for help with my medical insurance. I am really hope it will work for me, so I can be a better mom to my daughter who believes in me. I need a someone who understand and coach me through this. Does any one want to be my coach? I am Asian people used to tell me gambling is in our blood. To me it in my blood and brain. I do really need help. I am will to go through medical procedures if it will help. I need to stop this for good.
