The last time I gambled and lost a lot of money was December 19, 2014. I am counting the days and proud to say that I haven't been back at the casino since then. Today is January 7, 2015 and I am thinking, I have only 12 more days before I could say, "I have been gamble free for 1 month." What a great way to start the news year! I am hoping that by December, 2015, I could say that I made it through the whole year being gamble free! I have a new motivation. Before, it was going to the casino to win back the money I lost over the years. Last year, it was just the "high" of winning and this year it is feeling good about myself that I didn't enter the casino. Feeling good that I made the "right" choice to stay home with my family instead of staying out late and lying to my family about where I have been, escaping the smoke and the bad environment.
Well, today is day 24 - gamble free! It is so hard to resist the temptation of going. When I feel like going to the casino, I get right on to daily strength and you all help me tremendously.
When I think of how I got addicted to gambling (slot machines), it gets me angry. Innocent people who go in just out of curiousity try out the machine, win, and then the addiction begins. I wish I never won the large amount I won. Then, this would have never happened. On the otherhand, it has taught me a lot. Most importantly, it taught me that so many things in life could become an addiction and that it is so important to be aware of how things that may seem "okay" are not....
