feel so happy at the moment ,with not gambling for 9 months and its all with going to a ga meeting ,wish i had gone sooner but that is in the past now ,time to look to the future

Good for you! Well done! At about nine months my hope was restored, I quit fighting with myself, and my support group became something I run to.

Congratulations, Todd! This is a HUGE accomplishment. I absolutely love Sheila's analogy of your achievement to pregnancy...it is so fitting and so true. Giving birth to a new life that is no longer wrought with self inflicted pain, humiliation sorrow and shame.

It's time for another "pregnancy" - continuing to make wise choices that will allow for your 2nd full term delivery of life...9 more gamble free months from now!

On the 9th April I will be 7 years gamble free , I've made the best friends I have ever had going to Ga meetings.
My advice to anyone struggling with gambling is get to a meeting , it is daunting at first but you are with a supportive group of members who understand exactly what you are going through.

Well done Tod, congrats on 7 years.
I had accumulated almost 5 years when I had a slip in 2019. After I forgave myself for that, I dusted off my "relapse prevention plan" and got my priorities straight. Fortunately I still had some blocks in place and that kept it short and while it pinched me, it was not a disaster financially. I got to my support group in a hurry. I have a little over 2 and 1/2 years since my last bet. And while I am living on a low income and growing old, I am healthier mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually than I have been for a long time. I am making strides toward being my happiest self.
