Hi, I am new to the site and been gambling for a long time. I am 61 and want to stop gambling. I have been to a gambling Councillor and he told me I had the worse kind of gambling addiction. I think he meant I would be a candidate for suicidal inclination.
It is a few years later and I am still here and slot free for 3 days. I was never a large bet gambler which supposedly meant I had other issues and was hiding from them by playing slots.I was playing to avoid reality and pass time rather than playing to win.
When I play slots I see the same people. The only ones who appear happy are the ones so drunk they don't even realize they are pushing a button.
I've noticed I am losing more now then ever, even though I still bet conservatively. I am tired of losing money to machines. I feel so embarrassed when somebody I know sees me playing slots. They always make some comment, like I didn't know you gambled. Yes, I gamble.
I've decided this time I am going to quit. I am day 3. The forum reading lets me know I am not alone.

read some previous posts. lots of great information on this site and other places.
I'm 60, and been fighting for a few years. this time I'm determined to enjoy some of my golden years. I've had to develop a lot of different interests, but it does help.
again, welcome, keep coming back. and ask any questions you might need to. no one individual has all the answers, but as a team, we usually do pretty good helping each other.
