Today is 60 days without placing a bet. In a very calm way, I'm thrilled. I am learning to fill my time up with healthy choices, and when I don't make healthy choices, as long as its not gambling, I won't beat myself up (like eating the damn ding dong last night or spending too much money on my new handbag, lol.)

Went for a 2.5 mile walk with my mom last night, getting back to basics. Working hard, but not too hard. I have to tell you, for me, this time, my recovery is the most important thing and may be for the rest of my life.

I have never wanted something more, and although the addiction has tried to suck me back in, I have fought the urges, and I will continue to fight the urges, whenever they creep up. its funny how this addiction can try to convince me that I miss the gambling, or that its okay if I just for a little bit, my addiction tells me, I'm not an addict, and if I listen to the addiction, and I act on it by allowing it to convince me I can gamble, I'll be right back in the addiction, that I am sure of. I am in recovery, I say that, loud an proud.

Someone wrote in another post "Get Real." For me, nothing is more real, for me, I want recovery, not only do I need it, I want it.
