What are some things that you are looking forward to doing over the holidays that do not include gambling? I am looking forward to spending time with my family, getting a relaxing massage, and watching a lot of basketball. I am anxious to hear some of your responses. I hope that everyone is doing well.

I took off the two weeks of Christmas and New Year's, looking to relax... It's been a rough few months and I plan on doing as little as possible. Also if the weather's with me, plan to do some sight seeing and day trips. I don't want to over plan it, because that's just a double downer if the plans don't shake out.

Well, I plan on celebrating the holiday's without gambling for the first time in about 4 years. My husband and I plan to travel from far Northern Mn to far southern Mn to visit our family for a few days. Thankfully, my husband will keep me from stopping along the way at the biggest casino in Minnesota. Oh.. yes my mind has wandered several times recently in that direction but I keep telling myself NO! NO! NO!. So what if they have cheap food, free hams and free hotel rooms I will end up paying for it all and more in the end if I go there. I know that's what will happen. I won't have fun and I will once again ruin the holiday by gambling and lying to my husband about it. Nope...I plan to drive right by and not look that way. Not even a passing glance! They can't have me this year. I have only one life to live and I want to be happy this year at Christmas! Gambling... at the end of the day always makes me very sad and lonely. It's not at all worth it!

I'm looking forward to having my older kids home for the holidays. I love all of the cooking and baking that goes on when we are all together.... which means eating but I'd rather be fat and happy than skinny and sad...lol.
I don't work the last week of the year which means I don't get paid. This is usually very stressful for me because I spend all of my money gambling within the first couple of days and then I have to make it through the rest of the holidays on nothing. NOT THIS YEAR. Yay.

It sounds like everyone has a lot of fun coming their way. If you were gambling you would not be able to focus on all of the fun this Christmas season can bring. Thank you so much for sharing.
