Hi Everyone,
I haven't been on the site as much as I would like to be lately, but I have been very busy with LIFE!!! Today marks 3 months away from the Casino!!! For me, this is huge!!! We are still in a heap load of debt, but not like we were 3 months ago. It is going to take years to make up for what we lost and blew, but I am actually feeling human again and liking myself a little more. My husband and I both got our paychecks on Friday... we paid our mortgage (we are still behind, but caught us up another month), a few utility bills, a few payday loans and we bought a much needed couch and a dresser for our daughters room!!! It felt soooooo good getting these things paid.
I just want to say that if I can get this far, anyone can. I was in such a bad place just a few short months ago. 15 years of letting that casino rule my life and who I was. But NO MORE!!!!! I know there is a chance of relapse, but I NEVER want to feel the way I used to feel on a daily basis when I was gambling. The funny thing is, it became such a way of life for me that I didn't know just how much it was destroying my life.
I hope all of you are doing well. I give this site the biggest credit for me being where I am right now. Although I haven't posted much, I am reading posts when I can, and I am keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. I can relate to everyone's posts...I am hear to talk or listen anytime.

Stories like yours are so important to the rest of us! You're digging out of the hole, and the bedroom furniture is a tangible example of where our hard earned money can go instead of to a casino's pocket!
I finally have food in the house! When I was gambling, I would have maybe $60 left over for household needs, so I'd shop day by day to make sure I could stretch it out. Lots of pasta, sloppy joes, "breakfast for dinner",no money left over for a full fridge or cupboard. Kept my change jar in the car for gas a few times, too!
Life after gambling is so wonderful in so many ways. Thank you for posting this ;)
Paying bills and getting out of debt slowly but surely ... that is the way to do it.
If you keep this up, you'll find yourself in a much better place than some hell hole of place that I won't even mention the name of (we know what place that is around here!).
