I met with the freaking bankruptcy attorney. I did it. One of my worst nightmares is over. Yesterday was a day that has been coming for years, a day I have dreaded and avoided and pretended wouldn't happen. I haven't slept well for a week and I cried all day yesterday. I literally couldn't pull it together and stop crying - that was scary but I just kept moving forward. I chose to face it all instead of run to the casino and live in denial.

All of this not sleeping, waking up worrying about money, crying, being sick at my stomach - reminded me of how I used to feel all of the damn time - when I was gambling. I've had a reprieve from that for about 4 months now and I had forgotten how bad it felt.

I'm glad for the reminder and I'm glad that I have other things I can do now instead or running to that stupid stupid place. And I'm glad that having to tell a stranger about how sick I've been and what it's done to me finally is over!

CONGRATS! Once I finally started dealing with things that I'd been denying, by the time I had to pay the piper, I didn't care what happened. I need resolution. GLAD that you are feeling relief. Less pressure. What we don't deal with, deals with us, so now that those situations are behinds me, as far as confronting them, I have more energy to enjoy the day! Glad you are in a good/healthy place. GOD BLESS

I am so happy for you Lisa....I know all too well the emotions of that day. Sitting there waiting to be called before the judge with my ex-husband, discussing all the gut wrenching details. Ugh...brought back some not-so -pretty memories. I've forgiven myself, but will never forget, for whenever I have the slightest urge to "treat myself" I simply remember.

I will always remember.

I am dreading the talk with a bankruptcy lawyer as well...but i sense fully what yvegas says is about to happen and i will be "dealt" with. I have avoided facing the collection calls and now is time to face them and take action.

dert... it's not bad. it seems like these bk attorneys have seen everything. They aren't quick to judge and mine even thanked me for my honesty... said that's hard to come by in his line of work.
