It seems funny but when the money gets tight, and it will no matter how much you have, when gambling it all away. All of a sudden I remember just what a hundred can buy and really means. When I am gambling a hundred just doesn't even seem real, just like play money and no value to me at all except how many pulls on the machine I will get.
My money is going to be short for a few months now and I have acquired some debt that I will pay then but this tight spot I'm in is really an eye opener as to the value of a dollar.
I literally had no sense of monetary value whatsoever the last few years. Money came real easy for a while and had quite a lot of hits at the casino but in the long run I am not ahead and I truly believe that the longer you gamble the more you will loose in the long run.
Sorry, but this is such a realization for me just what a hundred dollar bill can buy. I used to pay all my bills on ACH and so I just really had no clue as to the value of money. Also, been bread into me at an early age to spend spend spend. My money blueprint they call it. Trying to change all of that and all of this.

you may have heard of the huge ice storm that hit toronto. Well i had a massive weeping willow tree fall in my backyard, i spent $2100 to get it cleaned up and removed :(. I guess even that is money better spent than gambling.

I thank god I am no longer throwing away money on gambling! This year my husband and I were able to convert our furnace/boiler from oil to natural gas. We got it done just in time because it's -30 degrees here in MN and the heating bills would be much higher. This is a very cold winter! so far. The conversion was expensive (the install bill isn't in yet) but the hot water heat feels really great! We had been using electric space heaters for a couple of years because oil was too expensive. Today my car started but on the way home from work it smelled like burning oil. That can't be good! It looks like I'll be spending money on the car now too. So....I absolutely cannot waste any money on gambling! It's survival mode here! If I was still wasting my money on gambling like I had been these past years I would be in really BIG trouble. No car and no heat! So far I have not been able to save any money but at least I am paying my bills. I'm so grateful for having a job and a place to live. So many people out there have nothing. I am so ashamed of all the money I've wasted. I can't do that any more. It's over and I'm done!

A single cent of our money going toward life expenses, bills or even toys is much better than on gambling. Family man I live just north of Toronto in Port Perry and know all about the ice storm. December 24th. my roof sprung a leak.five to be exact! The ice built up on my roof and then when it warmed up the water made it into my attic. My bedroom hardwood floors have buckled and I now have a gaping hole in my kitchen ceiling. At least the insurance company is going to pay for it!

these are just things...save your money...buying things is only a short term fix..dillusional

When I was gambling every cent plus away, I didn't even have money for a coffee out. It's nice to have a few small bills in my pocket now.

I have no accounts anymore. I turned all my finances to my husband. I get only $25 a week allowance for lunches and walking money. My pride was hurt at a beginning, but It feels great and urges greatly subsided.
One year, 3 month and 6 days GF.
