I went to the casino yesterday and lost 500. Today I went online and lost 460. I have gotten myself back to reality and have stopped. Thank God. I just wanted to come clean. To be accountable and responsible. Im back mentally and realize that I made a terrible mistake. I allowed myself to talk myself into it. I let my defenses down and wammo. I know from the past relapses that guilt does no good. So I just wanted everyone to know were I stand and that I am recommitted to beat this horrible addiction one day at a time. Support welcomed. I can understand, went Friday night...dealing with a lot right now, but that is not the way to handle it. Why can't we stop for good, what is it about this additiction? I continue to research and try and understand, but right now I just have to be honest with everyone and my self and know that I am a good person. We will ge through this, I have faith that we will!

thanks. I m not really down on myself because I know it was my own foolishness that led to the gambling. It wasn t anything emotional as much as sheer boredom. I have to really keep my defenses up when I have free time or my mind thrifts too gambling. My off days which yesterday and today were kill me. I allowed my mind to talk me into alittle gambling just for some excitement. BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!!!!! I wasn t using it as an emotional avoidance or stress relief. I missed the trigger and allowed myself to indulge. My faith was pushed aside in favor of gambling. My defenses are back up and my faith is running the show again. I m taking it one day at a time just like before. At least I learned something about myself from this gambling slipup. I m not happy but am dealing with this relapse honestly with no excuses. I was just plain old bored. Thanks for all the kind words and God bless. The first step has been taken again. 1/30/2011.

I totally understand. I too have just realized why weekends were difficult for me. I was bored so I would gamble. It got worse because I changed jobs with weekends off. I am figuring out other options and there are many, to do with my free time on the weekend.

Yup..happened to me to.
Didn't even have an immensely strong urge...was just driving by..and thought.."well, i'm feeling better...I won't spend much..its been a few weeks"..
ah..yah..NO...not quite.
So here we are..starting again..BUT..at least we are trying..and doing what we can...
that's a huge improvement over the last few years.
Keep at it!
