I was at the annnual GA Breakfast, I think 150-200 attendees? and was one of the speakers, nervous isnt the word, I was going on 2nd, and had to endure a speech before me.

I said to God - I will go up there on faith alone and you promise me you'll get me through it

It was one of the best moments of my life, the elation and CALM i felt when i went up there is only that of God - I'm so grateful and I want to encourage those who are struggling, my story is long and you can read some of the entries, I dont post much anymore cause I have a wonderful full life and attend GA weekly, they are a great family, I wish I did it sooner.

Congratulations on your speech, I wish I could’ve heard it. Did you talk about how it was when you were gambling and how it is now? I can write how I feel but to be able to face a crowd would make me a nervous wreck! Way to go!

Good for you Itsjustme! Really, Wow! Public speaking I understand, is one of American Culture's biggest fears. Most of us would rather wrestle alligators than speak to a crowd of strangers. I have terrible stage fright unless the crowd is all hand picked by me and every one of them cares about me. (I gave a great speech once at my private graduation party from Junior college.) I can write speeches far better than deliver them, unless it the audience is full of friends.

Well done for not holding back! Don't you find it gets easier to tell our gambling stories the more we do? There is something freeing in it doing so. Maybe the more I own being a compulsive gambler, the less it has power over me? I will not gamble today.
