I had my gallbladder removed 2 weeks before my 21st birthday. It has been 100% better. It was more painful than I thought it would be, but that\'s because I ran out of painkillers. If you have those, you\'ll be fine. I was normally walking around in about a week and a half.

I didn't know that I could feel better again. But after less than a week I felt like a new person. I only used painkillers after the surgery for a day and a half. and by the third day i was up, walking around. Around 10 days later me and my sister drove from Oregon to San Diego, CA and took an 8 day cruise. So... you can say I felt 100% better!!!

Hello! I never realized what I was suffering from was gallstones.Three weeks ago I ended up in the er.My blood levels were 8000 times higher then it should have been and the other was 1000 times too high.I was kept overnight with an iv and not allowed to eat.The dr did a sonagram which showed stones.A week later I had my gall bladder removed with the laproscope & was home six hours later.Yesterday I had my staples out and will see my surgeon one more time in three weeks to recheck my blood levels.My dr said I had sixty stones so I know I made the right choice. The only tips I have are to have someone to help you the first few days & to rest.It also helps to talk to someone who has been through it and to read about it.

I had laparoscopic cholecystectomy at the end of May 07 so am just over 2 weeks post op. I have to be honest and say that it is the best thing that I have ever done. I was admitted to hospital in December 2006 whilst on holiday in France as I had Gallstone induced Pancreatitis. I managed to get them to let me fly home as it was less than a week prior to Xmas to then be admitted to hospital in the UK in January because I had cholecystitis. 8 days later after an ERCP where they did a sphincterotomy I was sent home and added to the NHS waiting list. During the four months on the waiting list I had several occasions where I nearly went back to hospital as the gallbladder attacks I was having were so bad. However I waited and continued taking Codeine and Cyclizine and spent the best part of the four months as a zombie. It really was one of the lowest times of my life. However, having had the surgery I feel like a new person. I still have some slight muscular pain and the incision in my belly button is a bit tender but apart from that I am doing well. I spent the four months I was waiting for surgery looking on the net and was frightened to death about how I would feel after surgery as I had read nothing but horror stories about constant bowel issues, pain, nausea infact anything and everything negative but no positive. I am writing this to let you know that I have experience no negatives with my cholecystectomy so please do not be worried about forums you may read which tell you to the contrary. I think that the people that are on these websites are in the minority and the people who have had good experiences are out there getting on with their newly transformed lives so haven't the chance to write their positive experiences down.

I had my gallbladder removed about three weeks ago. I feel so much better. I was up and walking within a few days. I was back to work this week and I am feeling 100% better. I am so happy to not have the pain that the stones were giving me. I would recommend the Cholecystectomy, it is somewhat painful in the beining; but worth it in the long run.

I hade my gallbladder taken out about three months agao. I never know that I would feel so much better. I was on pain killers for a while after. But I was up and moving around in like a day and a hale. Once I was heald. I couldnt belive that I had no more pains in my chest.I had them pains since I could remember. When I went to get my stiches taken out I couldnt belive what the doc. said. He said that they where very bad and that they never really worked. They should have been taken out so long agao. I just glad that there out and theres no more pain.....

The best book available. Give it to anyone who has lost someone whether they are religous or not. This book helps so much.

Did not care for this book at all. I read it when my husband died.

I mentioned my lack of enthusiasm for this book to a grief counselor, she didn't care the book either.

I give it one star someone tried to write a book. Did not help me at all....

Had the procedure done yesterday 6/19/08 . No problems and so far have not needed any pain meds. ( tender where the 4 little sites are) Kt
