Friends til the end Community Group
A group for those of us here who get more from our friendships than from the available discussion groups. A place to be accepted and appreciated for who we are. Somewhere to always feel safe and know that especially on the bad days we are here for each other .A place for encouragement and love.

It is obvious I am temporarily addicted to checking in on a few friends and a few groups on here. This is one I always enjoyed games with others.
How about your favorite memories of snow as a child and an adult?
as a kid I would play til my feet were frozen and build snowmen, sled from the top of the hill at night (lit up by neighbors outside lights) with the neighborhood kids
as an adult I enjoy cuddling up inside and watching the snow fall . I especially love when you wake to fresh snow blanketing the trees and road . (before all the dirt from plows and cars ruin it)

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmon

It's going to get hotter here with Thursday being the hottest. It's noon and 75f feels more like 80 or more.I've been cleaning up the deck in this morning and cleaning the windows outside. Then I cut up a pallet in half, I've decided to call it quits now because I went a bit light headed. Joanne, some drugs we take have an effect on us in the heat, I know a couple of mine do, maybe yours...

We never really know who people are, if they are real or fake. The slowness of this forum is likely related to people giving up on it. Also I noticed many people come on here, ask advice but don’t engage with others. They don’t help create a discussion community.
I have to say that when you came back this time, I got so excited to see you because we both used to be on healthy relationships or codependency groups and I loved your responses and posts.
there are lots of us who are what I would call daily addicts to this site...me being one of them.....then we lost a really important member Lesa recently she was a group owner and content creator that many many people enjoyed her group friends to the end.....we were her friends to the end but now we keep trying to keep that site active which is used by so many of the regulars here....so creating stuff in friends to the end is going to get more people active than just in your journals my friends.....anyway I live and breathe thanks of course to this site keeping me from doing dumb stuff....
As for your other question, my earliest memory involves snow. I was 2 or 3 and we had a big snowfall so my dad was outside cleaning off the walkway to the car and cleaning off the car and my brother and I were out with him playing in the snow and I fell down on my behind into the snow and it was so high around me because I was so little my dad had to rescue me because I couldn't get up out of the snow.. I don't remember if it was that same year or another year but we had a lot of snow at one point that my Dad went out and made a maze in the snow for all the kids in the neighborhood (hard to explain where we lived back then but there were a couple of apartment buildings around but also large grassy spaces between the buildings... it wasn't a city area but more suburban) to play in. It was pretty awesome. Our first house was in a bit more rural of an area (at the time, it was more rural anyway) we had a nice hill on the side of the property that whenever it snowed my brother and I would go out and build up some snow banks and then sled down the hill and depending on which route you took and which sled you were on you could wind up going into the bushes at the front of the property or worse, wind up in the road (good thing it wasn't a high traffic area - but some people did speed down that road so it was a bit dangerous in hindsight). We'd stay out until we couldn't feel our fingers or toes which was probably not the best idea, but as soon as we would go in the house Mom would make hot chocolate for us. These days it snows and I just stay in but I used to love it as a kid...
As an adult, I enjoy snowshoeing on nature trails and taking in the beauty of the snow on the trees. I also enjoy curling up in a blanket with a good book on cold days.
I don't actually remember specifics but always enjoyed a good snowball fight as a kid and we even built a snowman a few times. The cold doesn't bother me as much and rain and wind does! I still love watching snow fall and don't mind walking in it either as long as it's under about 8" lol
Tes you getting buried in the snow reminds me of when we had to rescue and chase Kozmo (my late pup) And I also remember the frozen toes and fingers. We lived in my great grandparents home and it had a coal stove in the basement. I would come inside and lay on the carpet with my feet up against the radiator to warm em up.
We would learn that our back door (storm door and no roof on the deck) had to be taken care of as snow accumulated. As it turned out, the front door opened inside so we just went straight out onto the deck. Hubby was not thrilled when he (actually we, I did help) had to dig a path all the way around to the back door. Then from the back deck to where the parking pad was and dig out the cars. Was not fun.
ANYHOW, Kozmo went out and followed the path but wanted to explore so the little shit hops onto the snowbank and begins to sink so we pick him up and he does again. He loved it.
Looking2b though I would love to be your neighbor, I could never endure your frigid Canadian winters.
Blue I cannot imagine warm climate but now wish I was somewhere that I never had to deal with snow or ice again. I have always lived in PA so have always had to deal with snow and cold. If truth be told I could not imagine Christmas without the chance of snow.
Things are never the same when the original leader passes. It is so sad. I really miss Lesa.
But Kim, you are doing such a great job keeping us going.
I'm so glad you all are still around.
