When I have felt this way, I try to remind myself of Jesus' wisdom when he was being falsely accused and treated brutally because of it. He did not defend himself. He said nothing in his defense. He just said the truth, and let things happen around him. Sometimes, that is the best course of action to take; none.
Oh, this hit me right in the gut. To be rejected and stigmatised for illnesses I did not bring on myself and for which I work my heart out to try to get better.
Starfish, I'm not a Christian per se (a lapsed Catholic) but I do believe in the love and teachings of Jesus - I think they are perfect. I agree that his dignity and his truth in the face of dreadful torture and persecution and even derision, are an eternal light for us to see and to gain strength from.
