My friend actually adopted a child who started attacking children and then the school bus driver! She talked w/the agency who placed him and it was discovered he had issues which were not fully disclosed. She returned him. As bad as she felt, she had to do it. he was endangering others.

I would ask each of them, independently "what happened?" Do the answers jive? or are they completely different? i would ask for a 3 day in house hospital evaluation on your FS's mental health. I would get your son therapy so he can work out anything which is bothering him regarding the attack. Don't leave it unaddressed. Good luck.

You should feel guilty. I can't believe you would just throw him away. There's a reason he is acting out. What is your son doing to him?

I get what you are going though as I have been attacked by other fosters however do you think that your fs feels loved? Does he think he is as big of a part as you bs in your family. If your Bs attacked him would you get rid of him? I do understand were you are coming from I really do however sending him away will only make it worse not better. Next time he does it try to talk to him after he clamed down and process the emotions he was feeling and list yours and your sons. Also if he was abused that might have played a part in it as well.

It can really depend on what you mean by attacked, but a certian amout of rough housing is to be expected. To be fair, only you can decide if your foster son is a danger to himself or others. If he is then often you have to disrupt, even if just to get the care that he needs. We had a fs disrupt because he got violent, and was doing things that would cause him self harm. There was no way we couod provide the care he needed. He eventually ended up in a specially trained theriputic home. He is doing much better, and even reunified with his family.
