We accepted an emergency placement over the weekend. Thank goodness this one is temporary. She is only 11, but she thinks she is on par with the almost 18 year-old that has been living with us for over a year and a half and is all but adopted and that she is a "third parent" to the two little girls. The first time we heard that, we told her no, she is only three years older than them and is still a kid herself. We also pulled the girls aside and told them that they don't have to obey her in any way shape or form.

If that was all, we could deal with it a bit easier, but she also brags about doing tons of drugs in her past and about having sex with 40 year-old men. She has tons of stories about being molested, which we are sure she has been, but they all contradict each other, so there is nothing to actually report that the caseworker doesn't already know. And she has no idea of appropriate physical boundaries with anyone, especially my husband. She also claims to think she's pregnant. We think she's just telling stories to get attention (she does that a lot) but are picking up a pregnancy test today just in case.

This was only supposed to be for about a week, and I let her caseworker know that she had to be gone at the absolute latest by the last day before I had to go back to work. That is a couple of weeks down the road, though. Any ideas on how to handle her? She doesn't seem to be a bad kid, just very messed up and not a good fit for my home.

Oh, to make things worse, we are in the middle of back to school shopping, and I can't put it off any longer. So this poor girl has to see my other kids get all this stuff while she only gets the barest necessities. She needs a lot more to have a true wardrobe, but I am not going to bankrupt myself for a girl that will only be with us for such a short time. I did make sure she got enough stuff to be able to wear clean clothes all week, though.
