We have siblings of 4 in our care who are kin (Grandparents). Neither parent has completed anything the case worker has asked them to do. The father had custody of the kids all of their lives until this March and mother has been an absent parent for the last 2 yrs. The current goal is for the kids to return to dad. But mom has the opportunity to prove herself and potentially get them if dad fails at it. The caseworker has suggested that both parents get weekly visits at MY discretion with me and my husband supervising. Neither parent will make their visit if the other one is present. Neither parent works, but have made ridiculous requests for visits that suite their schedule, no concern for ours. They have missed visits and have showed up an hour and a half late other times. The birth mom's parents have requested weekly visits as well-and they typically only saw kids about once every 3-4 months before coming here. They have showed up here unannounced twice recently and as late as 8:30 PM yesterday. Birth mom's mother actually walked inside my home twice without an invite and was standing in my kitchen when i walked out of our family room once and left a note on my kitchen table the other time. We feel like we need to get some control over the frequency of visits of parents who miss visits and request changing visit times frequently and address the birth mom's parents. Suggestions?
