Foster Care Support Group
Foster care is a system by which a certified, stand-in parent(s) cares for minor children or young peoples who have been removed from their birth parents or other custodial adults by state authority. Responsibility for the young person is assumed by the relevant governmental authority and a placement with another family found.
Second, does your agency or county offer any in-home behavioral services? For example, our agency has levels of intensive treatment foster care where they send a trained therapist into your home to work with your kiddo for up to 30 hours a week. It sounds like you could use a support service like this if you are committed to maintaining the placement. If your agency/county doesn't, do you know if there are other agencies locally who do? For example, we have a similar program through our local school system. Might be beneficial to explore your options to see how she can get the help she needs (and you can get the help YOU need!).
