I am so sorry this has happened to you tabby. I am a foster parent and I would never dream of harming any children. I am sorry those people were allowed to be foster parents. A question for you, Did you tell your caseworker about the abuse? Was there anything done in CPS to prevent these things from happening? It sounds like there wasn't or that your foster parents just put on a good front when CPS was around. It saddens me that some foster homes like this slip threw the cracks and are allowed to care for children. How are you coping with the abuse now?

Tabby I was also a foster child who was abused in 3 homes. I know that the abuse is scarring and can take years to overcome. Be strong and find help if you are still currently having issues. Message me if you ever need someone to talk to.

Amy, I know its disturbing to think that the people who are suppose to be helping abused children are abusing them too. You would think the caseworkers would do their homework on the families they license first.

I"m so sad that this happend to you....I hate that people would hurt children especially those who are already hurting and need love and healing. It makes me even angrier because it makes it harder for those of us who want to help to do that. Any advice that you have for current foster parents would be awesome. And also, as IAmy said, did you at least report the people who abused you so that they cannot abuse any one else?

I was abused in foster care. One of my foster parents beat the living daylights out of me, including her foster kids and biological kids in the beatings. Foster care can sometimes be worse than being removed from the home. I know Nebraska is pretty bad tho. I hope the foster care system gets better.

This totally saddens my heart, this shows me ppl that are in it for the money. Horriable. We are foster parents and would NEVER want to hurt a child worse than they already are. How did this slip thru? It wouldn't seem as easy nowdays. Im sorry this happened to you and your sister

I'm so sorry for what you've been through. Were the parents ever punished? Honestly, I think you should file a police report and a lawsuit if you haven't already. It won't undo what happened to you, but it might help you feel like you've gotten some amount of justice.

I too was abused in a couple of my foster homes growing. One social worker said I was making up stories because they would never approve a abusive foster parent, however the other 2 times with a different social worker they pulled me out of the home. I have a horrifying story from one specific home which I may share someday.

I was in a home for a while where I wasn't abused by the parents but by the bio child of the foster parents. Their daughter who was older kept trying to get me to do "things" with her...of a sexual nature. Creeped me out at the time and still does today. I was never so happy to get out of that house. The parents never believed my complaints since they thought there precious little daughter was a little saint when she was actually a little bitch.

iv been abused in at least five out of the over twenty homes iv been in in my life. physically, sexually, emotionally. have nightmares, flashes of what happened, get scared easily (although i dont normally admit it). dont know how to handle it.

It is horrible that these things happened to all of you! This is the reason I became a foster parent, to give at least one child a safe home. Please seek therapy, talk to a trusted counselor (church or professional) so that these things can heal and do not cause you problems or pain anymore than they have to. You are all strong, and you can get past this! It is not what you have been through, it is how you allow those things to change you/what you become that is important. Counseling and Faith can help point you in the right direction.
