Well, since getting licensed back right before Christmas and getting our first FS who was 20. Yeah it was a shock, who expects to get a 20 yo with their first... Well, things went ok, though he had a hygiene problem and was quite lazy, not to mention having some mental issues on top of it. He was almost a good fit in our home until he mentioned something about his past and made me worry about having older kids and younger teens. We talked about it for a few weeks to decide what we were going to do, when we got a call about G, a very adorable FD. She was with us for only two weeks, he kept pushing us to move her into her own room (she slept in ours in a crib) and we refused, just due to my training I knew it was not a good idea. Well one morning the wife was getting ready for church and the FD had a huge blowout, like needing 6 wipes to clean it up. She was still quite wet from the wipes and I was moving her legs around and helping her dry off. The FS then runs to my wife and says that I have intentions towards the FD and I wanted to molest her. once the wife told me about this, we called our people and came up with a safety plan, and the baby and wife went to stay at another place. Once I told the FS what was going on, he immediately started calling people saying I molested the baby!!! ARGH!!!! We had my wife do a hotline as a self-report and after a few days the wife came home, I slept in the living room and my wife was behind a locked door with the baby at night. We were having such a bad time with it, I ended up calling his caseworker and told him to come pick him up, it was just too much... We talked about it and he understands what happened, but in his mind he will always have that opinion of me, so he was moved that day. That same day we had another FS that is 18 move in, this kid has been a pure joy, he has his hiccups at times, but all around he has been great. He'll hopefully be moving soon to independent living, maybe in a few weeks, but wants to still come over for visits and have family time which we have no issue with. Last week, we took in another FS who is 16, both the FSs have known each other for years and have been friends for a long time, so they are happy to be in the same house. Downside is the younger FS brings out not the best in the older FS. The older FS does his best to not get drug out by the younger one, but times happen and we expect that. Luckily, the younger FS is only here for just a few more days until he moves in to his next placement. There are times both boys act like they love it here, then annoyance kicks in for both and it ends up being a roller coaster everyday with the younger one being hyper all the time... So, we can deal with that a little longer. Our FD, has grown leaps and bounds in the short 2 months we have had her, BD finally came in to the picture (he didn't know she existed) and he has impressed everyone involved in the case, including us! We are so happy that he stepped up and is doing everything they require, plus more! I really hope the judge decides to not wait and lets her go with him. Though we love the little girl, we know her dad loves her and is doing everything he can to be with her!
