For you 49er fans.... bad news came from the NFL head office. Linebacker Aldon Smith has been suspended for nine (9) games by the NFL after a series of off-field legal issues. He has violated the NFL's substance abuse and personal conduct policies. He will not be eligible to return until November 10, the day AFTER the 49ers game against the New Orleans Saints.

Seems that just before training camp began last month, Smith was sentenced to serve three years of probation and spend 11 days with a work crew after he pleaded no contest to a drunken driving and weapons charges.

I do hope the 49ers can recover from this loss. Not sure what this will do to the team so I will have to play them carefully this season.

I was so happy to be able to have gone to a game last October. That was my last major outing before my hip finally gave out. I even planned my THR surgery for the Chiefs' bye week! How's that for devotion??

Awesome Clover.. and last season I had major spinal fusion back surgery on Oct. 1st. the recovery was the recovery from HELL.. Hope you have healed well from your hip replacement surgery! and yes, that's devotion girlfriend!

Happy, I am a real "life gives you lemons, make lemonade" kinda girl. While sad that Aldon's behavior has resulted in a 9 week suspension, he will be back in time for both Seattle games and what's more -he will be FRESH! Anyway, now we have worries on the Ray McDonald front. F**k!, why can't these players take their aggressions out on the field, instead of their partners! It is just so, so stupid and there is no excuse for it!
Also, just read that Jim Irsay (the Colts owner was banned for 6 games and fined $500 k. I don't know how much of an impact that might make on the Colts on-field performance.

Just saw this -Broncos receiver Wes Welker has been suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the NFL’s policy against performance-enhancing drugs.

According to multiple reports, Welker tested positive for a banned amphetamine.
