RECIPE FOR VANILLA SUGAR CAKE

Help!  Years ago, I stumbled across a recipe for vanilla sugar cake.  I think it was in a Better Homes and Gardens book that has since been ruined.  I had been telling coworkers about it and had them drooling.  You actually did scrape out a vanilla bean and store it in sugar to absorb the flavor.  Then you use that sugar in the recipe. 


I did find how to flavor the sugar on Food Network... but still need to find a recipe for the cake.  A coworker actually found and ordered the vanilla beans online... so I do need todo this cake.   Gonna search some more, but if anyone has any ideas, I am game .  Thanks.

I I checked the Home and Garden website I didn't see that recipe there but I did find a good vanilla cake recipe that makes the cake with vanilla bean sugar on Pinterest. The recipe is titled Ultimate Vanilla Cake Recipe. It is made by Cupcake project.com. It sounds like a really good recipe and they make the cake and the frosting with real vanilla beans.

Do you know about what year the cookbook was?

Have you checked your library system?

Since all the recipies in the book don't change every year, if you even got close you'd probably find it.

Do you remember what the cover of the cookbook looked like?

Here is a used book site from the internet...you can look through the different additions and see if any look familiar.

You can then either buy the edition, or you can use the date to find the book in a libary or call around used book stores in your area.

I think, not sure, but I think the Salvation Army sells some used cookbooks in their thrift shops too...I'd call and ask before going there.
