Food Addiction Support Group
An individual suffering from a food addiction disorder frequently experiences episodes of uncontrolled eating, or binging, during which they may feel frenzied or out of control. They will eat much more quickly than is normal, and continue to eat even past the point of being uncomfortably full. Binging in this way is generally followed by a period of intense guilt feelings...
Another question for you: do you have triggers for the salt and sugar or is it just a general diet thing? I think the answer for dealing with it will differ; it's one thing to just be eating an unbalanced diet, and it's another sort of issue if, say, stress or boredom drives you to the salted caramel.
Either way, welcome to the site, and I hope you find some answers.
I see you posted months ago, so i do not know if this will be read. However, I can relate. My sugar consumption is astronomical. Let me reword that to was, astronomical. Up until 2 weeks ago. My friends bet me, that I could not give up sugar for 30 days. This is the hardest thing, I have ever done. But my cravings have nearly gone & I notice the usual sugar ‘highs & lows’ have completely evaporated. That alone, drives me. It’s a tough road, as sugar is in everything! But I am frankly SICK of being owned by it. I’d love to hear from anyone else starting a ‘new life’. After my horrendous withdrawals & moodiness. I’m determined to quit it, for good. I genuinely do need to set timeframes, eg- 3 days, 7 days, two weeks, 3 weeks etc. it helps me focus!
If I can be of any support, I love to. Take care & you can do it x
