Food Addiction Support Group
An individual suffering from a food addiction disorder frequently experiences episodes of uncontrolled eating, or binging, during which they may feel frenzied or out of control. They will eat much more quickly than is normal, and continue to eat even past the point of being uncomfortably full. Binging in this way is generally followed by a period of intense guilt feelings...
Also I try and do something to compensate. Okay so I screwed up AGAIN ... well dang it, then I'm going for a half hour walk. IT clears my head and emotions and reminds me I'm still working on good habits in my life. We have to have permission to fail. But not use it as an excuse,..if that makes sense. I decided to walk every day regardless of what I ate. The days I mess up at first were the worst - just wanted to vege in front of the t.v. But I MADE myself go for a walk , because we do have willpower and we do have the power of choice. Just one decision and it is really changing me!
Now I LOVE to walk. The moment I Get my shoes on and get outside into teh fresh air I am glad for my decision even if I'm feeling really depressed that day cos I always feel better. I have decided it's no longer about my weight, but walking for my mental health! It reallymakes me feel good.
By the way sugar can affect your mood (for me it does) and walking is a good way to counter the mood swings...
So yeah think of just one thing that you are going to do every day regardless of your food choices...like taking a daily walk. Or joining the local swimming pool...something FUN but tht gets you moving. I have found when I am moving and active..I'm more motivated to eat better.
