Food Addiction Support Group
An individual suffering from a food addiction disorder frequently experiences episodes of uncontrolled eating, or binging, during which they may feel frenzied or out of control. They will eat much more quickly than is normal, and continue to eat even past the point of being uncomfortably full. Binging in this way is generally followed by a period of intense guilt feelings...
I find myself in a very similar rut. I lost about 70 and have gained a great deal of it back. Now when I begin to lose and have any success, I find myself going on a "one-day" eat anything I want and it lasts several weeks before I realize and get back on track.
You use the word sabotage and I know that's exactly what I do. It's almost as if I seek out some of the least healthy food options even though I am completely happy and satisfied with a low fat sub from Subway for example. I can know this about myself yet struggle to change.
Tomorrow is the beginning of a new day and week and I plan to change. Join me :)
I can relate to your situation. Seriously took on dieting last summer and got to a nice weight. But even though people around me were taking notice, it wasn't enough for me. In my mind I was still too fat despite all that hard work. Ended up channeling negative emotions into eating, and gained more than what I'd lost in the first place. And then, like you, I'd try losing again but would binge and gain it all back. Please don't let things get you down! You do have a special person in your life, and that's YOU. Lose the weight for yourself. Relationships come and go, but your life is your own. We all deserve to be happy, and often we're the only ones stopping ourselves from attaining happiness.
