Food Addiction Support Group
An individual suffering from a food addiction disorder frequently experiences episodes of uncontrolled eating, or binging, during which they may feel frenzied or out of control. They will eat much more quickly than is normal, and continue to eat even past the point of being uncomfortably full. Binging in this way is generally followed by a period of intense guilt feelings...
Sorry I don't have the answer but please don't give up.
Keep coming back and maybe someone will have the answer for you.
I can relate to you CecilBgreen, I also have alot of weight to lose, and never, never have I ever lost weight .. I just don't know how to do it .. I use to belong to the OA group , which was a big help emotionally.. I feel like i've lost 100 lbs of baggage.. But for some reason I just don't want to give up my food ..
Its has gotten to the point where my Health is now affected.
I think for me I need to take it moment by moment .. Second by second ..
I have the exercise tapes, dance tapes, exercise ball, etc etc .. I know about carbs and healthy foods .. I just don't do it ..
I guess its Motivation....
If anyone knows how to get this going, Please tell me :)
I went to one OA meeting years ago and it was tough. There was a young anorexic woman there who probably was very nice but she was sent by her therapist because she "is terrified of being a fat person like the rest of us" and her therapist wanted her to become comfortable and see that fat people were human too. I don't know...it stuck with me. To have someone look me right in the eye and say she was repulsed by me. Not to mention I have an issue with the higher power concept.
My health is now being affected as well. I find I can't do the things I enjoy. I have developed sleep apnea and have to use a face mask every night.
I have read and put into practice some of the theories in Geneen Roth books but honestly I need to follow some kind eating plan and get the weight off as well as deal with the emotions. I am slowly killing myself and don't know how to stop.
I did weight watchers a few years ago and it is a good plan but i can't afford it right now. besides....I am the one who needs to work the program.
I have gained over 100 pounds in 2 years....now i can't get rid of it. That is my MO. Lose a bunch of weight then gain a bunch of weight.
Have you talked to your doctor to rule out anything physical? Its such a controlling disease.. So many more downs than ups... two decent days... one bad day and then ten more bad days...
There so many people who can relate... and so many people suffering in silence... You are not worthless and you have nothing to be ashamed of. Nothing!
