Food Addiction Support Group
An individual suffering from a food addiction disorder frequently experiences episodes of uncontrolled eating, or binging, during which they may feel frenzied or out of control. They will eat much more quickly than is normal, and continue to eat even past the point of being uncomfortably full. Binging in this way is generally followed by a period of intense guilt feelings...
Man do I know how you feel..... I'm a little older than you (27), but this post could have literally been me at your age. I really started struggling with binge eating disorder (although I didn't realise thats what it was at the time) in high school as well. Now, I'm 10 years later, and I'm still struggling. I've learned a lot about what BED is and how to tackle it over time though. Sometimes I now go weeks or months without a single binge, feeling very strong and confident and happy, and then suddenly out of no where I'll just binge, and then fall back into the cycle of starving myself and binging over and over again. Anyways, I hope you find some support here on this site. If you ever wanna chat definitely let me know! I can really recommend the book "Brain over Binge" by Kathryn Hansen if you haven't already read it! Its been a pretty big game changer for me!
