Food Addiction Support Group
An individual suffering from a food addiction disorder frequently experiences episodes of uncontrolled eating, or binging, during which they may feel frenzied or out of control. They will eat much more quickly than is normal, and continue to eat even past the point of being uncomfortably full. Binging in this way is generally followed by a period of intense guilt feelings...

Sometimes, life throws some serious curve balls our way and we feel overwhelmed because of the pressure others put on us, or that we put on ourselves.
We feel like we need something that will bring us a sense of comfort, a relief. So, we turn to food. We do it without even thinking.
But once we feel that our stomachs are full, we realise that the satisfaction we hoped to get from food is not there. Deep down, we knew it all along, it's no wonder we do it away from other people's sight.
I don't know your story with food. I don't know if you have turned to food for comfort, or if it was because there was a void in your life that you needed to fill.
What I do know is: you are not alone. Don't be afraid to ask for help. If you feel like your family won't understand, try talking to a doctor, or someone else you trust. .
You have done the most difficult thing, which is to take that first step and acknowledge you have an issue. You will pull through.
I can totally relate! You are most definitely not alone! I am a former college athlete, that has been binge eating for (what I can remember) six years! It is just now after back surgery, a highly stressful career, and a recent move that I realized I can no longer compensate for eating anything and everything in sight.
I too will eat in my car. Hell, even after getting dinner and drinks with friends, I will drive through Dairy Queen and not only get icecream...but another freaking meal!
I just started seeing a therapist and it has opened my eyes to a lot! I eat to find comfort. I can't say that I have a traumatic event that has occurred in my life, but I for whatever reason I don't like dealing with feelings of any kind. I eat when I'm bored, tired, sad, stressed, anxious.
We are all in this together. At least to start, if we can't address the things that make us binge, we can address those feelings, concerns, etc with each other! I've got your back. And so does everyone else in this group.
