Food Addiction Support Group
An individual suffering from a food addiction disorder frequently experiences episodes of uncontrolled eating, or binging, during which they may feel frenzied or out of control. They will eat much more quickly than is normal, and continue to eat even past the point of being uncomfortably full. Binging in this way is generally followed by a period of intense guilt feelings...
i remember when my dad lost his job, he started drinking more. when i broke up with my ex, i went full force into my ED. i went down to 90lbs. i think we have to learn different tools to deal with our emotions. good emotions and bad emotions. so i dont think it is just filling a void. in my opinion it is all emotions.
i remember saying to my dad, "i understand if you need the drink to help you thru this rough time, but if it lasts more than a month or two, i will not stand by and watch, i will do something about it." he agreed and understood what i said and he stopped his daily drink within a couple of months.
i think we rely heavier on our addiction when emotions get to strong. just my thoughts on the topic.
