Food Addiction Support Group
An individual suffering from a food addiction disorder frequently experiences episodes of uncontrolled eating, or binging, during which they may feel frenzied or out of control. They will eat much more quickly than is normal, and continue to eat even past the point of being uncomfortably full. Binging in this way is generally followed by a period of intense guilt feelings...
Most people who don't struggle with this normally will not understand. They will say "well just don't eat as much" unfortunately it is not that simple for people like us who struggle with this. The best thing that I have done so far is getting a therapist, she helped me understand more about what it is that I struggle with daily. Talking about this with people who understand is very helpful, however we are each unique in our triggers and how we binge eat. The important part is you recognize it, and you WANT to talk to people. I think it is very brave of you, I am new to support groups and it has helped me a lot so far, just to read other people's stories and struggles and see the powerful wisdom others give. If you ever need to vent, or have any questions I will be more than happy to listen or try to help with. I am 26 and this has been an on going battle since I was 8 years old. I am in recovery stages, and I will tell you it does get better, and you will learn how to control it better. You got this!
