Food Addiction Support Group
An individual suffering from a food addiction disorder frequently experiences episodes of uncontrolled eating, or binging, during which they may feel frenzied or out of control. They will eat much more quickly than is normal, and continue to eat even past the point of being uncomfortably full. Binging in this way is generally followed by a period of intense guilt feelings...

I move in and out of this group too. You would think with all the members here it would be more active. anyway...
It is probably the beer causing a lot of the weight gain. I'm not sure what a vodka rock star is.
Do you think it would be better to tackle one addiction at a time? Maybe the alcoholism would be the one to start with. I have heard that many people can trade one addiction for another. I think I have always done that. alcohol and exercise or food. It is a struggle either way. Are you able to get professional help??? A counselor?
Your husband maybe right ....you may get depressed. Getting better is hard work and you have to go digging around in those dark places and pull stuff out that may be upsetting but it is all worth it. What does hubby have to lose if you get better?
I think tackling one addiction at a time is a good idea.
I'm already depressed and when I watch shows like the biggest loser I get so down on myself because they are losing weight and I'm not. That's why hubby worries. If I go to OA and people are successful and then it might upset me instead of help me in case I'm not as successful. If that makes any sense.
He has nothing to lose if I get healthy. It will make a happier me and therefore a happier him.
Thanks for the advice. I am able to see a counsellor so maybe I will look into that.
Thank you
I am glad your husband is supportive and not oppressive. I may have assumed otherwise because I have never had supportive.
Hang in there :-)
