Food Addiction Support Group
An individual suffering from a food addiction disorder frequently experiences episodes of uncontrolled eating, or binging, during which they may feel frenzied or out of control. They will eat much more quickly than is normal, and continue to eat even past the point of being uncomfortably full. Binging in this way is generally followed by a period of intense guilt feelings...
I had a very similar experience, and what I did was, I brought fruit instead, as well as a picture (I put in my scrub pocket) from my vision board of what I would like to look like (it was a picture of a female athlete), so every time I had to pass the vending machines, I could look at the picture and reason in my mind why it was not a good idea to purchase snacks from the machine, and once I won the battle, I would go back to the nurse station and pull out my banana or apple slices and I was able to condition myself that way.
I hope this helps.
