Food Addiction Support Group
An individual suffering from a food addiction disorder frequently experiences episodes of uncontrolled eating, or binging, during which they may feel frenzied or out of control. They will eat much more quickly than is normal, and continue to eat even past the point of being uncomfortably full. Binging in this way is generally followed by a period of intense guilt feelings...
1. A healthier body.
2. A clearer mind
3. Loose weight
4. Feel more confideant because of loosing weight
5. Have more energy
6. Feel my feelings, instead of blocking them out with food.
7. Have more of a life, because I'll go out with friends,or go skating,
instead of staying home and eating.
8. A feeling of accomlishment from beating this food addition.
9. Trusting myself around food, which feels great. Not being
on some crazy diet, or depriving myself, because I choose
to trust myself, to make my own decesions when it comes to
food, instead of letting a book/magazine/etc tell me how I need
to avoid certain foods. No, I will decide what I'll eat, which feels
great.
10. Not feeling chained/addicted to something. Not feeling like
food has power over me.
Number 6 is /so/ important.
good post :)
Thank you and good job!
I am so happy that I found this group, I think the people here are amazing, supportive, and kind.
Great post.
I'm the same way! I have chosen to stay home with food, instead of seeing my BF. I call it "Having a Date with Cake". I don't really understand it, either. Sometimes I wonder - is it just because food is dependable? Not that my BF is totally undependable or anything, but...well, like all realtionships, we have our ups and downs, but food is always consistent, always the same, always comforting.
