Food Addiction Support Group
An individual suffering from a food addiction disorder frequently experiences episodes of uncontrolled eating, or binging, during which they may feel frenzied or out of control. They will eat much more quickly than is normal, and continue to eat even past the point of being uncomfortably full. Binging in this way is generally followed by a period of intense guilt feelings...
Christmas can be very challenging eh for a variety of reasons, including social/food/family/emotional triggers etc. Well done for the progress you made before you had this slip. And you can pick yourself again and get right back on course. Yes the cravings after a binge are horrible eh, and it's easy to become discouraged and down on oneself. Don't do it though. Drink water, exercise moderately, concentrate on capturing negative thinking (I find certain binge foods have quite an effect on my mental state) and know that "this too will pass".
We are on a journey towards recovery and like every road trip there will be "ups and downs". You obviously already know what works for you. Plan for sanity around food in your next meal, one meal at a time, one day at a time.
Take care... Kim :)
