Fitness Goals Support Group
This community is dedicated to group support around achieving fitness goals, whatever they may be, through personal training, athletic activites, or other strenuous activity. Whether you are trying to get fit to treat a health problem, boost your mood, relieve stress, or tone your body, this group is a great place to meet other like-minded people who have similar goals.
I think working up to your program is a great idea. It sounds like you have quite a problem with muscle imbalance. It's great that you've got strength in your arms but you put yourself at risk of injury if you don't have comparable strength elsewhere. So many exercises and daily movements use a range of muscles.
You're not being a baby. You're being a prudent grown up. If you put your back out you could be laid up for weeks. That would be a far greater waste of your time than starting out at a lower level of workout for those areas of your body that aren't where you want them to be. If you're already used to working out in general you could end up progressing quite quickly. Cut yourself some slack.
