Fitness Goals Support Group
This community is dedicated to group support around achieving fitness goals, whatever they may be, through personal training, athletic activites, or other strenuous activity. Whether you are trying to get fit to treat a health problem, boost your mood, relieve stress, or tone your body, this group is a great place to meet other like-minded people who have similar goals.

Start slow. If you try to do too much, too soon, you will quit. Decide what you want to do. Some people start out by going on walks. Start out at a pace, you think you can maintain for the duration.
Make a note of how you feel before you exercise and also when you finish and I can guarantee that when you are done, you will feel a little better then you did when you began!
When I was in my late 20's, I went through a severe depression. Someone said to me, "the key to having a healthy mind is in having a healthy body". So I started running but I was so out of shape, I had a difficult time, jogging the distance between two telephone poles, but I kept at it, every day...rain, snow, it didn't matter. I would go just a little bit more every few weeks as my stamina improved.
20 years after the day that I struggled to jog the distance between two telephone poles....I finished my first marathon!
Physical and emotional improvement takes time and perseverence. What I found was that I got the greatest benefit on the days when I didn't feel like moving!
Welcome to the group. Keep us posted.
God Bless
I joined My Fitness Pal again, so I've been holding myself accountable that way. I definitely do waste time after work, so I think that's a big one for me. I'm feeling more motivated with this attempt than previous attempts that I've made, and I think a big part of that has been using the community supports on My Fitness Pal and having accountability partners.
I've worked out for 2 days in a row, shooting for a 3rd this evening, and have been under my calorie limit every day this week. So far, so good, but it's still early, and I'm skeptical of my ability to keep it up based on my history.
Good Luck
I recently reignited my health and fitness routine after having to give up my gym membership due to financial constraints. Fortunately, there are infinite, free online resources that make it possible to still work out, like fitness blogs and Youtube videos.
Two weeks ago, I started the Bodyfit by Amy workouts on Youtube (specifically the 4-week challenge). They are fantastic! I highly recommend them. She is a great teacher, gives many options for different ability levels, AND encourages you to work at your own pace. I do the workouts every other day - you start with challenge workout 1 during week 1, then 2 for week 2, and so on.
I also started writing down everything I eat in a little notebook. It doesn't have to be too detailed, but it helps me keep myself in check. I look at is as "me time" to sit down and take a few minutes to write in it everyday.
Good luck!
