So try to eat a healthy, and a hugemongous salad with two glasses of water.
Do you really have sweet rolls in the house?
That is the first thing I would do - get rid of those type of things.
I find when I get like this I have to let myself eat something or it will drive me crazy. I have come up with some things that aren't terribly bad that I will eat.
Some of those things are toast w/ jam, peanut butter or cinnamon sugar. I also keep very dark chocolate bars on hand. They aren't very sweet yet have the satifsying richness. I have learned to make a psuedo reeses cup with some rits crackers, a dab of peanut butter and a small piece of the dark chocolate. I then microwave wave maybe 5 of these for 25-30 seconds. You could come up w/ a few simple, but not too terrible treats to allow yourself to have when you feel the need.
I always drink a big glass of water with whatever treat I decide to allow myself to have. I also like chai tea w/ soy milk. It seems a little decadant and the spices are full of anti-oxidants.
Be good to yourself!
I have an intense weakness for chocolate, especially white chocolate. I have found several recipes that I use to make white chocolate muffins (about 125 cal ea) and scones (about 115 calories each). I also made a coffee mixture (white choc of course) that I can enjoy iced (with soy milk) or hot. I can even have a bit of whip cream on it for under 150 calories per 6 oz cup..
I keep my white choc chips frozen and it seems to help me not reach for them unless I am baking. I also keep regular popsicles (mini) on hand and use them as an evening treat.
I agree with Gilthanos on the artificial sweetener thingy. I have a favorite I will use for baking, but otherwise I try to avoid them.
Good Luck and try to stay positive. Switching gears health wise is HARD! Any habit, can take up to 6 weeks (or more) to break/create and last (or so I've read lots.), so hang in there and I promise to try to be there with you!

I think once someone has the understanding where the anxiety of compulsiveness eating is really from, then they can eventually break free from it. But it starts with giving yourself freedom with food to eat anything u want, anytime u want, that way your results are, "u really dont want it, or enormous amounts of it".
