still not saving, like i wanted to

I wanted to put away my per capita like I wanted to, my oldest is still trying to make it on her own, but I feel guilty, because she doesn't have her basic stuff like shampoo, soap, conditioner, and mins for her phone, she has a man that is working, but she isn't working, she only went to school until she was 16, but she didn't finish and she only went to the 9th grade anyways, so she has no education, and she is so backwards she doesn't do things on her own, she wants me there to hold her hand. I think she has a reading disability and doesn't want me to know about it. because I have to fill out her apps for her. Idk, but I feel bad cause she is over 100 miles away from me and I can't go and hold her hand like I used to. i guess I should be grateful she is growing up a bit.
and my children just started school and need supplies and my middle girl wants to start band, and if its not one thing its another, and I end up broke by monday, after payday, never can save anything.
Any suggestions for those of us who live pay day to pay day?

Encourage older daughter to get her GED, then a job. My husband dropped out of school as a freshman and was able to get his GED. Encourage her to improve her living and living skills. This can be accomplished through letters (which will encourage her to improve her reading skills)

I used to try and help my adult children and all it did was hurt me.

I agree with Scarlet encourage her to improve her life... that's all you can do...

I too had kids that played in band and others that played in sports... it was very hard financially, but the rewards of watching them participate was worth it ...

ok well the jom committee agreed to help our children to get there instruments so my daughter could play in band, so that is one less worry for me on my shoulders, I believe they will donate them to us only for the year and then we will have to return them when the year is up. I am so excited though for my girl. This will give me time to save up some money to get her one of her own. I am so thankful for people who donate items for our children, it is so wonderful.
As for my oldest daughter, she has an appt on Oct 2, for the job corps here in Oregon, I will go up there and help her get started. Plus its my birthday and she wants to take me out for dinner. :)
