This community is for people who are struggling to meet financial obligations of any kind. Financial challenges include everything from the day-to-day challenges of making ends meet to managing credit card debt to bankruptcy. I am trying to start my website on a growth spurt... with very little luck right now. I have had luck selling ads for the site, which basically keeps the site free to run but I want to start making a little more, either by selling more ads or by selling products I have created.
The hard part for me though is that I don't want to spend a ton of money on these creations. I was thinking about creating e-books for my first two books but right now I don't have the extra time or energy to want to do that. Last night I was searching around and found a way to produce an audiobook for free, with outlets to all music stores as well as book stores... so this project will start very soon.
The other project is using my abilities with NLP and hypnosis and creating self-help MP3's, which would be a small investment for royalty-free music.
What little bit I have used NLP, the people have loved it, they have found it a great help... so it is time to start trying to market my skills with that.
A couple of years ago, while in England I met a couple of folks in the entertainment world and they said I had a natural voice for voice overs... so why not start using that voice on recordings to help others? Instead of working with one person, on-line I could work with tens or hundreds.
Anyway, I am hoping to start these projects before the fall and have some on the website before winter. I've got to find more ways to increase traffic to my site. I use Facebook and have a blog, which helps and roughly brings me 2,000 visitors a month, I would love to double that figure to start.

I need to find more outside-the-box methods to generate income. I'm thinking of offering to tutor people on MS Office; i.e. how to save documents on Word; both on .docx format and .doc; how to operate excel Spreadsheets and how to operate PowerPoint. Hopefully there could be an opening for me there.
Today I started practicing baking. It's a new experience and in Ireland/UK baking is the new Rock and Roll. (an Aromatherapist I knew said baking is similar to Tai Chi in terms of therapeutic value)
Now I am beginning to come out of hiding. UA s beginning to benefit me.
Selling products (books, CDs) is only a small part of it. The major part is ads. The only way to sell ads is by having a constant audience. Advertisers need to see that people stop by the site. And that is the hard part, having people who keep coming back to your site. You do that and advertisers see it and will place ads on your site.
You just can't let a site sit still... it needs to constantly be providing new things... just like a newspaper...
I'm not ready, nor can I afford to make my website a full time job but I do need to start spending more time with it and get it growing again.
I had a good amount of traffic but last year with getting sick and not updating for three months or sending out newsletters my traffic really nose dived. It's coming back, I just want it faster...
I've been working in a bakery for 20 years. My first job for nearly a year with this company was washing pans. I didn't start at the top, but I went to work everyday and my employers began to see that I was reliable.
I didn't start out on the top... I started out by washing pans - eight hours a day - five days a week.
19 years later, I'm in charge of the research and development department and have become a Master Baker, which was a two year course that my employer paid for.
All because I was a pan washer...
