ha! I hadn't thought about it till now, but in a way, yeah I guess I have been spending a lil more cash lately on stupid stuff...

It always used to drive me crazy that my ex husband would stop at the gas station every day to buy a bottle of soda knowing full well we had it at home. It was just a pet peeve of mine. Now that I am waitressing instead of bringing home a check I have a pocket full of cash and find myself stopping by the gas station for useless stuff... mints, cigarettes, soda. Things I never bought 'daily' before.

Now that you bring it up, maybe Im spending it rather than putting it in the bank.... Then get mad at myself for not having enuf when the bills are due.

Oh, yeah. The people who are demanding money from you are the same ones who caused the financial crisis. They call you from their limos to demand money. They deserve the money as much as anyone breaking and entering.

Oh my God yes!!! My husband!!! He is the worst! We are trying to get a loan modification on our house. We had planned a trip to see his mother in NJ before things went south. Already had plane tickets etc. and his mother paid for the hotel and spending money. BUT just before we left he had to have new tires for his truck, bought a laptop so he wouldn't be bored, and kept any leftover money in his pocket for whatever!! Now we are 3 months behind on the nortgage and the modification is at a stand still. Yesterday he decided he was going to light a fire under the mortgage co.'s a-- and so he decides he can't do that on his break! So he stayed home - costing a days wages!! I swear this is going to be the end of us! He's digging a hole so deep we'll never be able to get out!

I get what you are feeling about the husband who always has a reason to throw away money. Funny enough my husband did a similar thing. He went to the UK for a course (where By the way he was not making any money, jsut spending mine!) and he bought a $2K laptop just before and ended up needing me to wire him money in the UK. I am so tired of him right now!! He recently asked me to help him pay off a debt that he wants to clear and I said I can't and now he is upset. He always wants help and support but does not include me in the decision to spend. It feels unfair to me and he just doesn't get it.

I don't know if we spend to protect our money from others or if we need that little "boost" to keep our spirits up, or we "deserve" it or whatever. I am trying to limit going out to dinner and the "Latte" spending. It's hard
