My husband and I have been married for 11 1/2 years and have been together for 13 1/2. We make a decent living but have never budgeted well and sometimes spend more than we should. I have fallen into cycles where I make numerous purchases via credit card to talking between $1,000.00 - $3,000.00 worth of items. Items for the home, my husband our children etc that we have done without due to lean times. I almost justify it as "catching up". My husband feels I need to get help and that my behavior is compulsive. I will not argue and I was wondering if you could point me to some groups where I could find additional support, understanding and education so that I can change my spending habits.

Can you identify these rom-coms from just a screenshot from the middle of the films? This is a multiple choice quiz so even if you're not entirely sure you can always take a guess and at least have a 25% chance of getting it right anyway, so why not have a go?! https://www.buzzfeed.com/alysaurus688/rom-com-screenshot-trivia-quiz

look for meeting or telephone number for your area groups...or if none then try telephone DA meetings...
Can you pinpoint what and/or when those cycles start and what triggers them?
Nothing wrong with "catching up", in and of itself.
But instead of 'kidding yourself' that you've got that money to blow and then using plastic to pay for it, why don't you instead start a savings account, specifically for those items.
When you actually HAVE the money for a given item, THAT'S when you should get it.
Keep reminding yourself that if you need the credit card in order to pay for it, that you can't afford it yet.
If your husband thinks you need help, he should pitch in and help you, too!!!!
Maybe you guys can make an agreement that as soon as either of you notice that the spending is getting out of control, he should take control of the credit cards and that both of you agree on all purchases before they are made.
Yeah, but do some thinking about why you do that when you do. Figuring that out may be the most helpful thing to do in dealing with this.
Good luck!!!!
